“Living in my own system all day every day.”

BY DAY:

I love building systems for making art building tools to make art in those systems. I like the physical labor of making art and the steady tedious progression involved in the process. Trusting the process within a system I’ve built can feel robotic at times but from the mixture of human error and mechanical repetition something emerges that I love, perfection from a distance and imperfection on closer inspection.

I use painting, drawing, and serigraphy with a range of ever-growing materials to explore whatever ideas and processes have been on my mind lately. Sometimes I work in oil paint for a period, then graphite/charcoal, then in the print medium. I make my best work with joy and I find the most joy in making art when I switch focus from one thing to another and then revisit processes over and over again coming bacik with fresh perspective.
